Student Work
Capstones and Apprenticeships
Real work, starting first semester.
Through our Fall Semester Non-Profit Capstone, students work on multidisciplinary teams over 10 weeks to strategize and execute real projects for real clients. First and second year students work together and learn from each other as they meet with clients, develop strategies, and execute deliverables like videos, logos, websites, marketing collateral, sales processes, and social media content.
Want to see a Capstone Presentation? Watch students present their work (logo, videos, website, social media templates) to their client, SoundPointe Music Academy.
Capstones are intentionally designed to give students experiences that will serve them regardless of their calling. Students build character, grow in self-awareness, practice leadership skills, and get hands-on experience in the business world.
Paid Apprenticeships
Students have the opportunity to secure paid apprenticeships in their area of interest. Staff works with the student to connect them to professionals, and students take ownership of reaching out and arranging interviews.
Apprenticeships are also available with Vertical Studios for students interested in marketing and business.
Apprenticeships can lead to full-time work at graduation, and offer meaningful work experience that goes above and beyond the average resume of peers.

Capstone Spotlight: Sophia
During the Spring semester, first year students explore interests and work to uncover their calling. On capstone day, they present what they’ve discovered about themselves and share their 5 year plan.
Sophia didn’t just complete a capstone project... she created a professional level portfolio piece - an immersive, story-driven wall installation that now lives inside Vertical Immersive.
Hear how her semester transformed her from a hesitant student into a confident creative, ready to pursue 3D design and themed entertainment at the highest level... all while anchoring her work in purpose and faith.
Sophia took a paid apprenticeship with Vertical Immersive and was able to complete 2 additional interactive wall designs!
Grace House serves women 18 and older in Central Indiana. They needed a website and wanted help telling their story in order to reach their audiences and inspire action.
A Vertical Immersive student team met with the executive director and delivered a plan that included:
A new website
2 videos
Audience personas and brand guidelines
Social media recommendations
Here’s one of the videos the student team produced for Grace House:

“Seeing how they take what we cover in class and apply it to their capstone work within one semester is inspiring. These students take ownership of their projects from start to finish.
The lessons learned about communication, time management, service to others, and adaptability will give them a real advantage over their peers in the job market.”

Students Produced the 2024 Vertical Life Teen Summit
Students had the incredible opportunity to plan and produce our 2024 Teen Summit, a one-day event for teens with guest speakers, lunch, worship, and giveaways. Imagine having something like this on your resume before you even graduate.
